How to brief a Guilin Li River day

A Li River day is easy to under-specify. Guests often write “Li River cruise” and leave whether the day starts in Guilin or Yangshuo, which pier plan fits the group, and whether they want a guide on the water or only a car to the pier blank. A coordinator then guesses — or bounces questions before a quote.

This note is a brief guide, not a package page. It shows what to put in the first WhatsApp message so we can match a private car, a tour guide, or both for a Li River day. We do not sell fixed cruise, raft, or scenic boat ticket packages. No prices or named guides appear here. Send city, dates, party size, language, and the service; a coordinator replies with a plan and a quote — car, guide, and pier plan together when that is what you asked for.

City context: Guilin guides, Yangshuo guides. Car fields: book a private car in China.

Guilin start vs Yangshuo start

Say whether the river day starts in Guilin or after you are already in Yangshuo. That changes the pier plan, the drive, and when the day ends.

Guilin start. Hotel or district in Guilin → pier area that matches the brief → river segment as you arrange or ask us to help name → often continue toward Yangshuo or return to Guilin. Write which evening you sleep where if bags move the same day.

Already in Yangshuo. Pier plan, drive length, and end-of-day hotel are different. Do not copy a Guilin-start brief onto a Yangshuo hotel without saying so.

Many weeks sleep in Yangshuo after a Guilin start. Put both towns, hotel areas, and luggage in one brief so the move is not treated as two unrelated trips.

Car, guide, and what we do not sell

Private car. Hotel↔pier transfers, Guilin↔Yangshuo legs, and luggage. You do not need the car on the water. Start: /en/private-car/?city=guilin or /en/private-car/?city=yangshuo.

Tour guide. Pacing, which pier plan fits the group, and what to skip. Ask for a guide when you want explanation on the day — not only a drop-off. Start: /en/tour-guide/?city=guilin or /en/tour-guide/?city=yangshuo.

Boat tickets. We do not sell fixed Li River cruise packages, bamboo-raft combo tickets, or scenic boat product names. If a river segment matters, say so; we prefer to quote the day with car and/or guide and the pier plan together. Tickets stay separate unless you ask for help naming what to buy yourself.

What not to stack the same day

Longji rice terraces are a different, walking-heavy day. Stacking Longji and a full Li River day on one date is how the trip goes sour. Pick one priority, or give two clear dates.

Xingping / countryside viewpoints after a long river day are usually a stretch. Keep them for another calendar day when you can.

Guilin caves plus a full river plus Yangshuo nightlife in one daylight window usually means a rushed late return. Name the one river priority first.

Airport: KWL (Liangjiang). Yangshuo has no commercial passenger airport — arrivals are almost always KWL then the southbound leg. Rail meets on the Guilin side are not the same pickup as the airport — name which one.

What you get back

A coordinator replies in the same WhatsApp thread with a plan shape and a quote — pier timing, whether car only or car + guide fits, and rough end-of-day shape. Nothing is confirmed until you agree; we confirm only when someone is free for those dates.

The site does not show a “from” price, named guides, or fixed cruise package names. Prefer WeChat on some phones — same fields.

Do you sell Li River cruise tickets?

No. We match private car and/or guide and help shape the pier plan. Fixed cruise, raft, or scenic boat packages are not what this page sells.

Must the day start in Guilin?

No. Say Guilin start or already in Yangshuo — the pier plan changes.

Can we do Longji the same day?

We do not recommend it. Give Longji its own date when you want both.

Is the driver also the guide?

No. Ask for a guide when you want pacing and explanation.

Where do we land?

Usually KWL, then Guilin or on to Yangshuo. Yangshuo has no commercial passenger airport.
