How to brief a Beijing airport transfer

A Beijing airport transfer fails most often on one missing field: which airport. Guests write “Beijing pickup” and leave PEK vs PKX, the terminal, and the hotel area blank. Those are different curbs and different drives. A coordinator then guesses, or bounces questions before a quote.

This note is a brief guide for a mainland China private-car meet from Beijing Capital (PEK) or Beijing Daxing (PKX) to your hotel area. It is not a taxi rank tip and not a self-drive rental. PEK vs PKX — write the code

PEK (Capital) and PKX (Daxing) are different airports and different meets. A driver matched to Capital will not be waiting at Daxing. The wrong airport means a half-day mistake.

Send the code from the boarding pass of the flight you actually step out of — not the first airport on a multi-leg itinerary — plus the terminal when it is already on your ticket. A hotel near the Second Ring and a hotel near the airport are different drives from the same flight. The room number can wait. The area cannot.

What the meet looks like

The usual meet is after baggage claim, at the arrivals point the airport allows for private cars, with a short sign using the wording you sent. International arrivals take longer than domestic ones.

If the flight slips, write the new time in the same WhatsApp thread. Do not open a second booking first. If you are rebooked from PEK to PKX, or the reverse, say so before anyone rolls. That is a new curb.

Bags, children, and stacking the rest of the day

Count people and large bags together. Say if anyone needs the front seat, a child seat, or cannot manage a high curb.

A short domestic hop that lands in the morning can sometimes continue as a light hutong walk. A long-haul night landing plus a full Great Wall or Forbidden City day is usually two jobs. Name both if you want both. We would rather split them than sell a day that starts in the immigration hall.
